ABOUT YOUR PRACTITIONER

Biomedical Scientist • Clinical Hypnotherapist

I am a biomedical scientist and certified clinical hypnotherapist based in Singapore. I believe that the mind possesses an extraordinary capacity for adaptation and growth. Yet, so often, this brilliant system gets caught in loops that work against us, inadvertently sabotaging our progress.
Without even realizing it, we find ourselves operating on autopilot. We are holding back, delaying what matters, hesitating to express who we are, or turning simple everyday challenges into chronic stress, exhaustion, and anxiety. We live with the persistent background noise of “I am not enough” or feel held back by fears that no longer serve us.
Where do these automatic patterns come from? How can we transform reactive, overwhelming stress into adaptive responses that actually help us cope with life’s inevitable challenges? What are my unique gifts, and how can I bring them to light to contribute meaningfully to the world around me?
Years ago, my own search for these answers led me to hypnotherapy as a client. Experiencing firsthand the profound capacity of the subconscious mind for change opened a new perspective for me. It inspired a personal dream: to one day become a hypnotherapist and help others experience that same meaningful transformation. Today, having trained with the International College of Clinical Hypnosis Practitioners (ICCHP) under the supervision of Aloysius Tay, I am delighted to welcome you to my practice.
My practice integrates evidence-based clinical hypnosis with established therapeutic traditions, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy, solution-focused approaches, and psychodynamic methods. This integrative approach enables me to work comprehensively with complex client requests, addressing both immediate symptoms and their underlying roots. It equally supports deeper self-understanding, personal evolution, and the natural emergence of your strengths and talents.
My purpose is to guide you out of the maze of limiting beliefs, emotional fatigue, and reactive patterns into a place where your actions match your true potential, allowing you to show up, express yourself, and feel genuinely satisfied with who you are.
It is a true privilege to walk this path alongside my clients. I am deeply grateful for your interest and courage in taking steps toward positive change, and I look forward to supporting you on your journey.
Outside of coaching, therapy and science, I stay active and energized through my personal passions. I love the creativity and precision of crafting technically complex, low-carb dishes in the kitchen — a delicious challenge in itself! I also like creating digital art — like those few pieces on this webpage.
Physical movement is another big thing in my life. I am a passionate enthusiast of Kpop-X Fitness (a high-energy cardio dance workout created right here in Singapore). I actively advocate for this fun, vibrant fitness discipline and love taking to the stage with my friends to perform at public events whenever I get the chance.
OUR APPROACH
In this state of deep absorption, external distractions fade, time perception shifts, and the body relaxes into profound stillness. Your mind focuses entirely on guided imagery, prompts, and therapeutic suggestions, retaining the power to accept only those that align with your intentions, safety, and core values.
At Fortivion Labs, we use hypnosis within a structured, evidence-informed therapeutic process. Our integrative approach combines clinical hypnosis with established psychological frameworks, including cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), rational emotive behaviour therapy (REBT), psychodynamic, humanistic, Gestalt and solution-focused approaches.
THE POWER OF HYPNOTHERAPY

FIRST APPOINTMENT
Comprehensive Initial Assessment and Hypnotherapy Session
Your first appointment starts with an introductory conversation to outline the therapeutic direction and clarify the process. We discuss the problem you want to address and your goals for therapy, explain how hypnosis works, and answer any questions you have.

01
We talk through the issues that have brought you to hypnotherapy and your expectations for the outcome, and review your intake form together.
02
We will explore what hypnotherapy is, what hypnosis feels like, and how it can help with your issue. We will answer any questions you have and set a comfortable pace for our work.
03
The therapeutic work begins in an ordinary waking state as part of our integrative approach and is then reinforced in the hypnotic state.

04
We then transition to hypnotherapy, helping your subconscious mind integrate positive suggestions and gain insights to resolve your issue.
Afterwards, we reflect on your experience, provide a simple relaxation or self-hypnosis technique to practice at home, and outline the path for our next steps.

FAQ
The hypnotic state is a state of focused attention and increased responsiveness to suggestion; on its own, it is not therapy and may occur naturally or be induced simply for relaxation or exploration. Clinical hypnosis is the structured, consent-based use of the hypnotic state within a therapeutic process to address an agreed concern or objective.
Stage hypnosis, by contrast, is designed for entertainment. It typically involves willing volunteers, audience expectations and dramatic suggestions chosen for their theatrical effect instead of an individual therapeutic purpose.
Hypnosis often feels like a state of focused attention, similar to becoming deeply absorbed in a book, a film or your own thoughts. You may feel relaxed, pleasantly heavy or unusually light, although some people notice very little physical change.
There is no single “correct” way to experience hypnosis, and a subtle experience does not mean that the process is less effective.
Your level of awareness may change during hypnosis. You may remain fully aware, become deeply absorbed and lose track of time, or remember only parts of the experience afterwards. Occasionally, a person may drift into sleep; if this happens, the practitioner can gently bring their attention back to the session.
Hypnosis does not give the practitioner control over your actions, remove your capacity for judgement or act as a truth serum. You may reject or simply not respond to suggestions that conflict with your values or internal boundaries.
In our practice, every intervention used during hypnosis remains within the GHR Code of Ethics and agreed therapeutic purpose and the scope of your informed consent.
Most people can experience hypnosis to some degree, although responsiveness varies from person to person and may also differ between sessions. Some enter hypnosis quickly and experience noticeable changes, while others remain in a lighter state of focused attention.
A very deep trance is not required for most therapeutic interventions. The process is collaborative: your willingness to engage, communicate your experience and follow the practitioner’s guidance is generally more important than achieving any particular “depth” of hypnosis. The approach can be adapted to how you respond most naturally.
You do not need to become completely relaxed or form vivid mental images in order to experience hypnosis and get a therapeutic effect. People process imagination in different ways: some see clear pictures, while others respond to words, sensations, sounds, memories or ideas.
If you know that anxiety, difficulty concentrating or limited visual imagery may affect your experience, please let us know in advance. We can adapt the induction, language and therapeutic techniques to the way your attention and imagination work.
The length of our work depends on your unique needs and how you respond to the process:
We review your progress regularly to ensure every session remains valuable and relevant to you.
To reinforce your breakthroughs between appointments, We may also provide general guided recordings or custom-written therapeutic audio for your independent practice, helping you deepen your results at your own pace.
Yes. Online sessions are just as effective, provided you have a stable internet connection, a quiet, private space where you won’t be disturbed, a comfortable place to recline, a camera positioned so we can see and hear each other clearly.
While online work suits most clients, we will evaluate your needs individually — in-person sessions may occasionally be recommended depending on the nature of your request.
Yes, though we advise giving yourself a buffer. Hypnotherapy generally does not cause drowsiness or dizziness. However, the deep state of relaxation and inward focus can linger for a short time after we finish. For your safety and comfort, please allow about 60 minutes after your appointment before driving, operating complex equipment or undertaking tasks that require high concentration.
Yes. Your privacy is paramount, and all information you share is strictly confidential, in full compliance with professional ethics and Singapore’s Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA).
There are only a few legally required exceptions where confidentiality may be limited:
Whenever possible and legally permitted, we will always discuss this with you first. Full privacy details are clearly outlined in our client agreement before we begin.
No. Hypnosis is a natural, voluntary state of mind, not a trance you can be trapped in.
At any moment, you can easily end the practice yourself. Even if you were left completely undisturbed, your brain would simply transition into a brief nap or bring you back to full wakefulness naturally.
We hope this section helps address your initial questions about hypnotherapy. If there is anything else you’d like to know, please get in touch and we will gladly talk you through it.
